So, luckily i get monday off, because the landlady just decided to swiing on by and start wanting money for our living here this month. I know, right? Where does she get the gall? Problem is, I was the only one downstairs making myself some delicious eggs and hot dogs. I wasn't even really sure who was at the door, and then I remembered that she had called last night.
One of the things you learn travelling about in this way is the universal symbols. If you take your thumb, and place it against the fingertips of your index and middle finger and rub it up and down, for instance, that means Cash Loot (tm). And thus, i was able to discern who she was and what she wanted. Which was unfortunate.
In other news: I am published in a reputable expat rag! The article's here, in my defense I didn't know I was going to be covering the concert when I was there. After the fact ol' A. Shireman, the editor was like "so, wanna do a piece on it?". I think it worked out okay though.
Today's officially my first monday off, but i woke up at like 9 am anyways. gettin' on that regular schedule. I feel bad because, since i work on saturday, the other housemates cant throw gigantic friday night "up until 5 Am" parties. I can barely teach on saterday with a full 8 hours, much less 3. I was telling Dad the other night, my unique role in this here universe is the ability to take black tea and convert it into English lessons. I've kicked the coffee habit due to prohibitive cost, and that coffee makes me cranky/effective.
Well, I still need to take a shower. Schedule for today: apply for more jobs, take a shower, decide which restaurant i want to review, not necessarily in that order. Maybe I'll write some more narcissistic fiction!
